I saw Uncle Joey!
Tonight we were sitting around playing the weekly, "What are we going to do tonight?" game. I've known for quite some time that Dave Coulier was going to be at the Vu this weekend and I've been secretly wanting to see him all week long. I brought up the idea and Dana and Lori were up for it and so we went. Overall it was a fairly good comedy show. The highlight would be when he said, "Oh my god, Joey from Full House just said dick and balls!" Oh, it was classic. I sort of wish there was a little more material based off of Full House or the Sureal Life, but I suppose there's more to his life than those two shows.

I did it
I applied for Teach For America on Friday. It was the last day to apply and I decided last weekend that I might as well give it a try. While going through the process of applying, I've sort of gotten my hopes up about it. In the span of two weeks I've talked to two of my friends who got the gig and I've had two people from Teach For America come to my classes to talk about the program. I took all of that as a sign and now I'm really pumped. We will see I guess...

It really was a happy day!
I HATE Valentine's Day. Mostly because I haven't had a Valentine since who knows when and so I think it sucks that we have a whole day to celebrate everyone else being "in love." Blah! So, since this is my attutide about Feb. 14th, I wasn't really expecting to have a wonderful day. Turns out, it was one of the best I've had in a while. It started off great because I woke up early on my own and did a little pilates to this DVD my mom gave me. I then took the time to sit down and eat breakfast and catch a little of the morning's news. Then I went to class, the Psych lab and the grocery store (nothing really exciting about that). While I was home eating lunch the doorbell rang and there was a man delivering flowers. I thought they were for my roommate, but it turns out my dad sent me flowers! Then I went Greek Life for our SteerCo office hours and Phinney was late because he got Megan, Jaime and me chocolate roses! It was really a very sweet thing to do and after all of the shitty things guys have been doing to my friends lately, he slightly restored my faith in the male sex. Then I came home and checked the mail and my mom finally sent me the scarf she knitted for me along with a little Valentine's Day cash. On top of all of that it was a beautiful day and so I convinced Lori to go running with me before it got too dark or too cold. Hopefully today is only a hint of what is to come for the rest of the week.

What's wrong with me?
About 2 weeks ago I noticed that my jaw was hurting. I thought that for some reason it may have been related to the cold that I had. Well, 2 weeks later and it's gotten worse. It's getting to the point where I wake up in the middle of the night with it throbing and I really can't eat any hard, crunchy or tough foods because I have shooting pains coming from the right side of my jaw. I'm going to the denist tomorrow to get all of this checked out. Judging by my latest luck, I'll come back with braces and head gear to fix the problem. I'll keep you posted.

Even more on last night
If you would like to read other accounts about the craziness of last night, feel free to check out this or this.

Wow, I'd thought I'd seen it all...
Tonight Coulter and his roommates had a party. My friends and I showed up around 11 and literally tripled the party. About an hour later the people upstairs who were also having a party decided to combine parties and so the total amount of people increased dramatically. After a while of "large, crazy party," this stripper appeared and started dancing with her pet snake. Yes, you heard me correctly, her pet snake. It was insane. I have never seen anything like it before in my life...a stripper with a snake. Later she added chocolate syrup. I didn't see that, but there were some guys around who took pictures and were more than willing to show them off. It was madness. I thought it was just going to be a simple night of quaters and flippy cup and it turned in to something crazy.

In other news from the night, I dyed Brian's hair. Well more like highlighted it. I was afraid that it was going to look really bad, but it turned out quite nice. Props to me and my mad dying skills.

Just a little update
So nothing really wonderful and exciting has really happened to me since classes started, but I was starting to feel like I was neglecting my blog, so here's a very uneventful update in list format. I hope you enjoy.
1. Greek Week SteerCo is well underway. We have planned some lovely service activities for the week of Greeks. I would love to tell you, but I've been sworn to secrecy until the first liaison meeting which isn't until next Thursday. I'm really horrible at keeping secrets, so this is going to be a true test.
2. I applied to Illinois State last Friday. I'm really nervous about the whole situation because this brings the number of schools I've applied to to two. When I look at the acceptance rates of the two programs (each taking about 6-10 people out of more than 250 applications), I think that I'm basically screwed. All of this is really giving me a reality check that I'm actually graduating in May and I will be out in the "real world" whether I like it or not.
3. As of right now, I'm not going on Spring Break. Some of my friends from the house are going to Arizona, but there's an issue with one of my roommates not being 21 by the time we go, and I don't want her to be left behind, especially since she didn't get to go to South Padre last year. I would really like to go some place warm with beaches and lots of sun, but it's looking like that is a fading possibility. I still get to go to San Francisco for graduation with my dad and brother, so it's not like I'm being deprived on a vacation, but I would kind of like to go on one crazy college trip before I move onto whatever comes next.

That about sums everything up right now. Hopefully my life will spice up a little bit in the next couple of weeks and I can add something a little more worthwhile.
